I took a field trip recently to see David Adjaye‘s design for Ruby City, a new contemporary arts center in San Antonio, TX. The building doesn’t open to visitor’s until October so I was limited to getting photos of the exterior. I’m looking forward to a return visit to see the galleries and collection.

I stopped in to see the new Visual Arts Building on a road trip home from Michigan and got these photos. Gorgeous new facility designed by Steven Holl Architects. I wanted to get out on the balconies, but doors were locked…
This was my first time in Iowa City and I fell in love with the place–lush and hilly with a beautiful river running through. And I had one of the top five most memorable dinners of my life there at Sanctuary Pub–no kidding: coq au vin blanc. It was fantastic.
