Garden Buddha

Just a random photo from the archives.  This was at a garden center in Laguna Beach, CA.

The Home-Made Bike

I had these photos on the web-site a long time ago and am finally getting around to posting them again – just so you whipper-snappers with the fancy store-bought bikes can eat your hearts out!

Again with the Junkyard Photos

If you missed seeing them in November at Plenum Space, they’ll be on the walls at the Arts Council of Metro KC offices, February through April.  There will be a reception Friday, February 19th from 5-7 p.m. at 906 Grand.  E-mail your RSVPs to Sara ( and let her know wine and hors d’oeuvres are all well and good, but you’re expecting a cheese ball.

Mark Your Calendars!

The Kansas City Artist’s Coalition is hosting it’s Annual Art Auction Saturday, February 13th.  There will be a huge variety of art available in all mediums, all by coalition members.  I’m new to KCAC this year and am participating for the first time with this photo from my “Air Show” series.  Bring a date!  Bring yer Ma!

The Most Gorgeous Craftsmanship

You could surf the web every minute of the rest of your life and you might still never run across these beautiful handcrafted bicycle frames – so I’ve added a link here under “bikes”.  It pains me to know there are people in the world who have never heard of Columbine Cycle Works.

From the archives…

photo: "Food, 3-01"

I had some time to dig through old photos over the holidays, and found these.  They were taken in Lawrence, Kansas at a brand new grocery store.  I can’t believe I was the only one there with a camera.

Accidental Photojournalism

Belfast, Northern Ireland
On December 30th, the NY Times ran a collection of reader’s photos of the past decade  which you can still see here.  This one from our travels in the UK/Ireland appears on May 15th, 2002 of their timeline.
